Ep. 104 - Congratulations, You're Alive! (w. Sean Chris Lewis)

Image
There was something special about my next guest that I couldn't put my finger on when we first connected. Was it his infectiously genuine energy that transpired through our initial call as we got to know each other better? Was it his generosity and courteous demeanor as he graciously welcomed me in his home as he'd previously had me on his own podcast? Was it his perceptive ability to reach out to me, out of nowhere, when I wasn't really in the best of moods or mindset? Was it his joyous celebration of the daily little wins in life? In hindsight, as I write this intro, I'm pretty sure it was all of the above. As you'll soon find out, Sean Chris Lewis , isn't just a Certified Personal Trainer, host of the wonderful Forked podcast , loving husband and father, but also a tremendous source of kindness and warmth. In this conversation, we cover Sean's mindset hacks, his p...

Ep. 086 - Stronger People are Harder to Kill (w. Dave Morrow)

Image
I have a tremendous respect for the Military. Truly.  Anytime you want to take an example where values of commitment, consistency and teamwork are the core elements of the job at hand - you can't leave out those individuals, men and women, whose service and sacrifice allow us the freedoms that we enjoy and oftentimes take for granted. I had to opportunity to meet and connect with my next guest, Mr Dave Morrow (M.A., BSc., BEd., CD), at a recent Rogers Small Business Centres Speaker Series event. It was my first time ever attending an actual networking event so I didn't quite know what to expect out of it but after the keynote, we got to chat up about about mutual interests. As it goes with most people I've had on this program, Dave had a really cool story to tell. From being a fifteen year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, an Afghan war veteran, to being a teacher, which also ranks one of those...

Ep. 071 - Unmatched Quality (w. Coach Jay Renaud)

Image
"I'm only interested in pushing two things...fitness and the envelope" Photo:  © Jason E. Lucas (IG: argonautik4) - All Rights Reserved In the spirit of the New Year, I wanted to kick things off with an interview that I was fortunate enough to get with an individual who truly embodies what we try to promote and encourage here on the podcast. And that is to concretely and effectively ensure that your actions are elevated to the same level as your ambitions. Don't let his bright smile and warm personality fool you - today's guest, Coach Jacques Renaud, or  just "Jay" for short, is a beast and in that mindset, pulls no punches. His clients - well, those who survived anyway - are the first to account for his dedication that has made them sweat, scream, cry, curse...and eventually acknowledge the reward of a job well done. Jay's core values are rooted in his belief that one is accountable for their own success...or f...

Ep. 039 - Less Noise. More Dedication. (w. Lemar Martin)

Image
© Nicolas Bourque (https://www.nicolasbourque.com/) - All Rights Reserved He's ba-aaack! Thrilled that the Universe allowed our mutual schedules to realign and for the opportunity to have Lemar Martin on the podcast once more. As a Natural Bodybuilder, trainer, and all around awesome individual, this conversation was another gem, if only to tap into Lemar's singular sense of purpose, truth, and relentless dedication. Following what was a real adventure that eventually led to the incredible stage that is the Arnold Classic Brazil, recently held this past April held in São Paulo, Brazil, Lemar certainly has wild story to tell. And one I certainly hoped he'd be willing to share. I do hope you enjoy this exchange as we certainly enjoyed bringing it to you. You can connect with Lemar via Instagram , Facebook  & keep up with his latest videos via his YouTube channel . © Nicolas Bourque (https://www.nicolasbourque.com/) - All Rights Reserved You can d...

Ep. 015 - Stay Dedicated (w. Lemar Martin)

Image
© Claude Bélanger (www.claude-belanger.com) - All Rights Reserved I've always been big on the importance of physical activity. In a not too distant future, I'll be hitting 40 and if there's anything these two minions that bear my name have convinced me of, it's the fact that your body and its overall maintenance are and should remain a constant priority. Funny thing about fitness that I've learned throughout the years - it's personal. There is no ONE formula and what works for you is not always the best option for someone else. Goals, schedule, personal commitment, medical history, immediate environment, social conditioning...take your pick - factors are a dime a dozen. Everyone has their own journey. Any my next guest is an honest testament to that simple fact. Bodybuilder, trainer, entrepreneur and all around awesome individual, Lemar Martin always stood out as a man of great character and a kind heart from the first time I met him back in a past life...
