Really excited to be back with you guys as we get to speak with an incredible individual with a truly remarkable story that stands out as a true example of both passion and purpose. From his humble New Jersey beginnings,  and by overcoming his fair share of personal struggles, Dr. Alister Martin 's own sense determination and fierce conviction eventually led him to both an MD from Harvard Medical School as well as a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School. He is an emergency physician who straddles the worlds of medicine, public health, and social justice. He is also faculty at the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Social Justice and Health Equity at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Martin previously served as Chief Resident at MGH/Brigham Hospital. It's always refreshing to walk into an interview and not really know what will come out the other end. This was another one of those opportunities where the individual definitely lived up to the hype. Jamal Henry is a man of many talents - whether through his dynamic football career, his obvious dedication to his family as a husband and father, or as a published author , one could agree there are a few reasons why our conversation was such a thrill. What do avocados, Distributed Ledger Technology and purposeful dedication have in common? I struggled a lot in my last years of High School as well as throughout College. What resulted was that even though I remain a strong advocate for Academia, for the longest time, I carried a strong sense of personal underachievement compared to individuals who maximized their academic potential, opportunities and endeavours in order to accomplish some pretty incredible things.
