Ep. 175 - Risk Is Life (w. Erich Leidums)

Image
I genuinely freaked out the first time I saw a short video that today's guest, Erich Leidums , shared of his young daughter on skis...going down a hill... As a Haitian, living in Canada...and even though I enjoy winter...winter Sports such as skiing, snowboarding, skating etc...frighten the living daylights out of me. And I'll be perfectly honest - not that I've ever tried. I'm just scared. Period. But that's the thing isn't it? As loving parents, we love our children and we take our role as providers and caretakers seriously. Oftentimes a bit too seriously. And the unfortunate result is that we have the potential to burden their experiences with our fears and doubts. And that's how I caught myself watching that little video... "...how can they let such a small kid do that?..." "...what if she falls?..." ...and all other sorts of judgemental/reactionary thoughts that I'm certain Erich has had to be the target of ov...

Ep. 156 - Take Action (w. Christopher Salador)

Image
I know I say often about all of my guests, but I cannot set aside how incredibly excited I am about today's conversation. This meetup was WAY overdue as my next guest and I had connected some years ago, even before the pandemic, and he has since become an incredible source of support, wisdom, kindness and inspiration.  Christopher Salador is not just an expert Realtor with a proven track record spanning almost two decades. He also stands out as a gifted trainer, speaker, consultant and prolific content creator.  His YouTube channel, which I highly recommend you subscribe to, is a worthy resource for both beginners as seasoned investors looking to get some useful and applicable tools to further their Real Estate knowledge. Mel Vandersluis is one of those incredible people that crosses your path and does not fail to leave a positive impression.  We had randomly connected on a previous occasion and, even though it wasn't my initial intention, our conversation made such an impact on me, I felt compelled to extend a humble invitation to have her on the program. Mel is a truly talented travel photographer, content creator and entrepreneur based in Montreal, Canada. Ep. 153 - Moving & Evolving (w. Xavier De Le Rue)

Image
When I was a kid, we watched this wonderful, iconic movie titled "Le Grand Bleu"(or "The Big Blue" in English) starring Jean Reno and Jean-Marc Barr. It's the beautiful, poetic and tragic story of the rivalry and what some would call a bond between two individuals who, through their chosen passion for free-diving, were not just competitors but also friends. I'm not gonna give you a long synopsis : if you care to see what happens when talent meets obsession, while also fuelled by the thirst to always push past your limits...just watch it. I bring this up because, for some reason, in trying to find the right words to properly introduce today's guest, I struggled. Not because the words wouldn't come, but more because of this weird comparison that I could not shake off as I truly thought this was an appropriate visual for today's particular exchange. I came across Xavier De Le Rue 's truthfully incredible career as I was rando...

Ep. 151 - The Spirit Of A Champion (w. Jamal Henry)

Image
It's always refreshing to walk into an interview and not really know what will come out the other end. This was another one of those opportunities where the individual definitely lived up to the hype. Jamal Henry is a man of many talents - whether through his dynamic football career, his obvious dedication to his family as a husband and father, or as a published author , one could agree there are a few reasons why our conversation was such a thrill. But what mostly stood for me was the genuine intensity and wisdom that Jamal brought to our conversation. Indeed, I got to sit down with a man driven by a palpable sense of clarity and commitment to his goals that I believe we can all take notes from. On this episode, Jamal and I have an amazing exchange as we discuss the importance self-awareness, creating boundaries, setting a clear path for one's vision and so much more. You can connect with Jamal via Instagram & Facebook . Be sure to grab a copy o...

Ep. 143 - Fulfillment Through Clarity (w. Michael Cazayoux)

Image
Every time I hit 'Publish' and an episode gets released into The Universe, I often take pause - and realize that it's still there. I'm talking about that wonderful sense of excitement, gratitude, and respect that has always characterized every one of these amazing interviews. It's a humbling thing to realize that, behind the achievements, the celebrity, the notoriety, the expertise, if one is willing to humble yourself and listen, you have the opportunity to get to know an incredible human being. Today's guest is no different. I had been a big fan of my next guest for a really long time as I greatly admired this warrior's journey. As a back-to-back CrossFit Games World Cup Champion(2012, 2013) Michael Cazayoux is no stranger to the importance of one's mindset when overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles. As a Coach, being well-accustomed to the unique process of self-examination, he specializes in helping clients “get out...

Ep. 141 - Mentoring Greatness (w. Coach Raymond Ndjonok Tonye)

Image
One thing about success that we can all surely agree on is that despite the fact that you can go at it alone, it sure helps if you can rely on someone with the knowledge and experience to guide you and make your journey a bit smoother along the way. As my next guest will tell you, this is especially relevant in the realm of professional sports where so many of our youths too often find themselves blindsided by the allure of fame and glory without factoring in some other aspects that come into play such as character and accountability. Coach Raymond Ndjonok Tonye has a comprehensive and unique personal as well as professional background. From being an elite Canadian student-athlete who earned a full athletic scholarship to attend the University of Northern Colorado and play NCAA Division I Football, he knows firsthand how the power of sports can influence a person's life when approached with the right plan, structure and mindset. A captivating public speaker, stu...

Image
© Richard Lecoin (IG : @richardlecoin_photography) - All Rights Reserved How far can your journey take you when you make no apologies for what you want, own up to who you are and lean into to your own sense of purpose? Turns out today's guest just might be able to shed some light on the topic. Jonathan Perry - aka J.Perry - is all about that and then some. With a love for music birthed from a very young age, growing up in his native Port-au-Prince, Haiti, J's passion and exploration of various musical styles were just of a series of incredible stepping stones towards some pretty awesome heights. With the help and support of his family as well as a host of various collaborators, from talented producers to a skillful management team, J rapidly made his mark onto the music scene not just in Haiti but abroad. Indeed, when your song, namely " Dekole ", gets chosen as the theme song for your country's National Carnival while subsequently ending up a...

Ep. 138 - Purpose Filled Journey (w. Ian Farrar)

Image
"Grind while they sleep" "Don't stay in bed unless you can make money in bed" "Sleep when you're dead" How many of these memes, quotes or photos have you seen lately glorifying the almighty "Hustle"? I sure have. I've even shared a couple myself. You guys know I never set aside the importance of having to put in the work and sacrifice to achieve your intended success. Today's conversation however, gave me pause as it left me full of respect, humility and hope. Thing is, my next guest, Ian Farrar , had experienced the ups and downs of an incredible career in a way that very few people can truly understand. As a sales professional, entrepreneur and founder of Far North Ltd and Carpeway Ltd , Ian has over 20 years in global business development roles.  With a strong, global network of influential contacts to call on, Ian has founded, scaled and exited companies in his native North East.  Ian also has impressive e...
