Ep. 129 - Break Free (w. Coach Michael Taylor)

Image
I have always been quite outspoken about my dedication to encourage a better conversation among Men in regards to their identity and purpose as I believe there is still a lot of work to be done in terms of both communication and mental health.  So when I got acquainted with my next guest and his similar efforts, it was only natural to extend an invitation to be a guest on the podcast. Coach Michael Taylor is an entrepreneur, author, motivational speaker and radio and TV  show host who has dedicated his life to empowering men and women to reach their full potential by transforming their lives from the inside out. He knows first hand how to overcome adversity and build a rewarding and fulfilling life and he is sharing his knowledge and wisdom with others to support them in creating the life of their dreams.   He is the President & CEO of Creation Publishing Group - a company that specializes in ...

Ep. 128 - The Choice The Be Fearless (w. Jane Egerton-Idehen)

Image
Growing up in a Third World country but having had the privilege to make a life abroad has taught me a lot about gratitude and resilience. Two very useful tools I believe are essential in anyone's arsenal along their journey. Having also been raised by a pair of solid overachievers who did not shy away from instilling a sense of duty and strive for excellence in their children was something I also benefited from. These are but a few of the elements that resonated with me as I took the time to read up on my next guest and her many incredible achievements. While it is true that circumstances such as financial resources, cultural background, family upbringing all play a significant part in one's journey, I truly believe that the power of the the mind and the choice to elevate one's self beyond these challenges remains the deciding factor between Success and Complacency. From the slums of Lagos, Nigeria,...

Ep. 125 - Foundations of Greatness (w. Max De La Cruz)

Image
To say that my next guest, Max De La Cruz , and I hit it off from Day 1 is an understatement. You guys know this: save for the initial introduction and booking process leading to recording day, the conversations I have the honour of sharing on this podcast are oftentimes the first interaction I have with the guest, .  While I will admit there is some level of risk involved in such a process, I can tell you for a fact that there's a huge and resounding takeaway when you get to connect with someone who, in all honesty, truly happens to be on the same wavelength as you on so many levels. To keep things simple, let's draw up a checklist so you can see what I mean... Dedicated Father - check Loving Husband - check Fun-loving playfulness - check Content creator & vlogger - check Ferocious Entrepreneur - check Author - well, that's still an item I need to knock off my personal bucket list but you guys ...

Ep. 097 - Talking Is Strength (w. Martin Binette)

Image
Facing your demons is a very uncomfortable feeling. But the path towards growth means that one must undoubtedly tread through his or her fair share of discomfort. This conversation was a long time coming. Not only because it covers a topic I've become quite vocal about, but also because it forced me to revisit my own journey towards acceptance. Martin Binette , powerful speaker and mental health advocate was the one I reached out to when I had reached a point where the stress, anxiety, confusion and darkness were rather hard to deal with.  Indeed, it takes a very keen sense of patience, wisdom, and empathy to help someone out in this particular kind of need.  Having dealt with mental health issues in his right for over 20 years, Martin is no stranger to the kind of toxic and oftentimes destructive internal dialogue that can lead to some unfortunate outcomes. Neither Martin nor I ...

Ep. 080 - Happy People Work Harder (w. Garen Jemian)

Image
www.garenjemian.com For those of you who've been along for then ride on this little audio adventure of ours, you know that I don't do too much research on my guests as I like to take a chance at getting to know the person across from me with no agenda and or expectation other than to learn from their story, vision and craft. Garen Jemian is one those breed of people who just have that particular kind of energy that you can't quite put your finger on but definitely resonates as both genuine and engaging. As an Executive Coach, Leadership Specialist and published author of the new book " Happy People Work Harder ", Garen has made it his mission to quite simply improve life at work, for leaders as well as their teams, by inspiring positive change and humanising the corporate experience. I was really thinking that this episode was going to be centered on or around the topics of Leadership and Work-Life balance. ...

Ep. 053 - Happiness. Hard Work. No Excuses. (w. Stéphane Bazin)

Image
On this episode, I setup some folding chairs and sit down (well, virtually anyway...) with the always entertaining and always exciting Stéphane Bazin , of Bazin Photography . As a successful photographer, podcaster , instructor and seasoned entrepreneur, this guy does indeed have a legitimate  sense of perspective which I wanted to tap into for this discussion. We were exchanging rather intensely about the realisation that most people, despite their best intention, often seem to neglect one of the most basic elements of achieving one's goals ...and that, we both had to agree, as ridiculous as it sounds, simply boils to just DO THE WORK. Because 'The Grind' never stops. A lively and ever-so engaging exchange that was definitely a blast thanks to Stéphane's always incredible personality and impactful insight. You can connect with Stéphane via Instagram on both his personal feed  and/or business page . Also on the Bazin Photography Facebook page . ...

Ep. 050 - Cultivate Your Own Peace (w. Fabiola 'Bibi' Coupet)

Image
Her name is synonymous with authenticity, warmth, kindness, genuine heart, and all around uplifting attitude. On this exciting episode, I welcome the delightful and spirited Fabiola Coupet , also known among familiar circles as just 'Bibi' for short. For the past few years, Bibi has been the entertaining voice and incredible host of the 'BibiNètAlKole' afternoon-drive radio show , on Haiti's highly-rated RadioOne 90.1FM. She's definitely a fresh and enlightening personality, filled with good humor and thoughtful wisdom. Something that only a rather singular outlook on life can bring. Her Instagram feed is indeed regular dose of pep that one is happy to get everyday. I was honoured to have her on, even though she and I had not formally met her up until this very recording. Ep. 043 - It'll be OK

Image
On this solo episode, I take a second and take a breather. A brief moment of vulnerability, really. Sometimes, you have to admit to yourself that you can't do it all. Thankfully, the people that matter have their own way of showing you they're not holding it against you. Enjoy. Ep. 039 - Less Noise. More Dedication. (w. Lemar Martin)

Image
© Nicolas Bourque (https://www.nicolasbourque.com/) - All Rights Reserved He's ba-aaack! Thrilled that the Universe allowed our mutual schedules to realign and for the opportunity to have Lemar Martin on the podcast once more. As a Natural Bodybuilder, trainer, and all around awesome individual, this conversation was another gem, if only to tap into Lemar's singular sense of purpose, truth, and relentless dedication. Following what was a real adventure that eventually led to the incredible stage that is the Arnold Classic Brazil, recently held this past April held in São Paulo, Brazil, Lemar certainly has wild story to tell. And one I certainly hoped he'd be willing to share. I do hope you enjoy this exchange as we certainly enjoyed bringing it to you. Ep. 015 - Stay Dedicated (w. Lemar Martin)

Image
© Claude Bélanger (www.claude-belanger.com) - All Rights Reserved I've always been big on the importance of physical activity. In a not too distant future, I'll be hitting 40 and if there's anything these two minions that bear my name have convinced me of, it's the fact that your body and its overall maintenance are and should remain a constant priority. Funny thing about fitness that I've learned throughout the years - it's personal. There is no ONE formula and what works for you is not always the best option for someone else. Goals, schedule, personal commitment, medical history, immediate environment, social conditioning...take your pick - factors are a dime a dozen. Everyone has their own journey. Any my next guest is an honest testament to that simple fact. Bodybuilder, trainer, entrepreneur and all around awesome individual, Lemar Martin always stood out as a man of great character and a kind heart from the first time I met him back in a past life...

Ep. 013 - A Lifeline from yourself

Image
A surprising and heartwarming story of how colleagues ... are not JUST colleagues. Sometimes, in the midst of the daily grind, we tend to take for granted the singular value of working alongside a really great and group of people. While the job might seem overwhelming at times, having the privilege top be surrounded by individuals whose presence helps you plow through is a terrific feeling.  You can download the MP3 for this episode by right-clicking here and choosing "Save As" Stay up to date - Subscribe to the podcast ( RSS ) ( iTunes ) ( Google Play ) and get the latest episodes as soon they're published.  Remember to leave a comment and let us know how we're doing.
